Freight Forwarders

With effect from the 14th January 2005 Freight Fowarders are no longer allowed to sell on, include in freight charges or administer insurance on behalf of their customers unless they are registered with the Financial Services Authority. This change in the law has left Freight Forwarders with two issues: -

Loss of revenue and;

Insurance for their customers

GoCargoInsurance aims to deal with both those issues by allowing freight Forwarders to continue to earn commission simply by providing information to their customers about the services offered by GoCargoInsurance. Our technology will enable Cargo Owners to buy Cargo Insurance online.

How do we earn a commission?

1. Activate your account

No commission is earned unless your account is activated. If you are a Member of BIFA your details are pre-loaded into our system. If not please contact us by email giving your details and we will add these to our system.

2. Advise your customers that this facility is available.

Each time they select you as the Freight Forwarder in any Cargo Insurance that they purchase from us you will earn a commission as detailed in our terms and conditions.

What is Activation?

Activation simply turns your account on, nominates a principal contact and allows you to start tracking the commission being earned.

What happens if I don't activate my account?

No activation no commission. Activation shows your commitment to providing your customers with the information about GoCargoInsurance. You start earning commission from the date that you activate your account.

How often do we receive commission?

Monthly by BACS transfer to your UK bank account.

How can we track the commission being earned?

The GoCargoInsurance system will allow you to track the Cargo Owners that have nominated you as one of their preferred Freight Forwarders and the commission earned from each transaction.

Once my account is activated can I arrange insurance for my customers?

This activity is absolutely forbidden and will lead to your account being deactivated, any insurance arranged voided and possibly action by the FSA which could lead to a fine or imprisonment.
